working on a ideal classic nf 50.
can thermister go out of range , or normally just stop working,
checked termister and am getting ohms reducing and increasing as you would expect .

boiler from cold will fire up , when gets to temperature, shuts off as expected and wont re start until whole system cools down to cold.
have tryed with termister removed and left connected to pcb, and will repeat above and go through cycle until cold.
when left in pocket will stay off till whole system cools down , found it a bit unusual .
have checked :::::boiler not going out on the high stat , aps is working as expected not sticking.
has anyone come across this situation before.
have new thermister on order.
but am wondering if the pcb is not recognising the info the thermister is sending to board.
any suggestions welcome.

Sounds like your on the right track with the thermistor, worth while replacing I imagine, cheaper than your pcb!

I had something similar, turned out the pump live was running off the boiler stat live, so once up to temp the pump switched off. Was taking ages for the system to cool naturally before the boiler & pump kicked back in.

Just trying to remember..... I think I had one like this, I unplugged thermister from pcb and it ran fine so would say its thermister.

Does it not just flash fault codes with it unplugged?
