anybody after a bit of advice on a ideal elan rs 250 gas valve

pilot will not lite have 23 mb at inlet test point but have nothing coming though gas valve manometer on burner test point pressed button on valve nothing tried lighting with piezo and match nowt have changed solienoid nothing could the interupter have anything to do with this problem boiler went of all of asudden any ideas

if its push button gas valve you should be able to light the pilot with a match if not the ignitor have you checked the pilot for blockage disconect pilot tube at valve see if theres gas there

thanks steve gas man have not checked pilot but i would have thought putting my manometer on the burner test point witch is just after the gas valve any gas if ablockage would have shown on the mano have changed solonoid on gas valve would this be enough or would have to change whole unit yes steve it is a push button honeywell type

remove pilot and blow out blockage or a few taps with a screw driver may do it

As Steve suggests pjgas ... remove the pilot supply tube from the gas valve and see if there's gas coming out. Sounds like your pilot injector may be blocked :)

Dohhh....if this is a manual pilot light with push button start on gas valve and the pilot cannot be lit with a match (you will hear the gas coming out) then the pilot is probably blocked. If it has the Honeywell valve with a green square push button, make sure you are operating it correctly as they are notoriously sticky/fiddly. The test point is for main burner, not pilot.

thank you all who replied sorted with new gas valve dicky green button also cleared pilot injector after not being serviced for 15 years
