Boiler is completely dead won't do a thing but display shows -. Any ideas guys. Boilers a pile of ****e

Spoke to ideal today who said it was a signal fault between user board and main pcb. But can't identify which one and it would be a case of trial and error. So purchased main board at £170 still no joy. Phoned back up and he 100% assured me it would be the user board which is £84. So will see what happens tomoz. Total joke

Have a look at the cable between control panel and main board, they rot at the top connection if the sump or aav has been leaking, it drips through the black seal around the primary pipe.

Cheers for that I'll have a look. Boiler is clean as a whistle tho, only 5 years old. No water marks anywhere

Display PCB seems to go more than the main PCB from my experiences anyway, I carry a used one to test with. Look on eBay, sometimes get the full boiler for £15 and break it down for spares

I've had this before and it was the pcb. So is a bit like that, trial and error. TBH though, the pcb being changed isn't a bad thing for it, it would have gone at some point anyway, so you're saving them an extra call out.

I look after plenty of these ( nutter ! ) as the years roll on all the wiring becomes very brittle , and I have found the odd broken one.
