boilerproblem

Hi all,

Wonder if you could give me a bit of advice? I moved house last October and since then the water, heating, timers etc have been working just fine. In the last few days the central heating has stopped coming on when it's supposed to, and I can't get it working. The hot water seems fine.

There's an Ideal Icos HE12 boiler in the kitchen, a Myson timer thing below it, a thermostat in the hall, and some sort of water tank in a cupboard upstairs. For the last few months I've had the hot water and the upstair water tank thing turned on 24/7 (is that a good idea, by the way?), and the heating programmed to come on twice a day.

So what's happening now - the boiler is displaying status 0 all the time - regardless of what I do to the Myson thing, or the thermostat, or the water tank etc. I've tried turning the boiler on and off, I've tried turning it off at the mains, I've pressed the reset button repeatedly, held it down, etc. At one point today I did manage to get the boiler to fire-up and it displayed status C, but it stopped after a while and I haven't been able to get it to do it again as I'm not sure what triggered it.

I'm going to call the plumbing company who installed the thing but before I do is there anything else I can try, and could you please give me an idea of how much it might cost to have it repaired/serviced etc.

Thank you!

If your hot water is still being heated by the boiler then it's not a boiler problem.
Its likely to be one of the controls - what type of motorised valve (s) do you have?

Thanks for replying...

How could I check to see if my hot water is being heated by the boiler or by the upstairs tank thing?

And sorry to be a moron - but I've no idea what a motorised valve is or how to know what type I might have.

Hi,
I Hope that you solved the problem with your ICOS HE12...
I have a problem with my ICOS HE12, there is no indication , no error code, the display is dead,
then last few days i noticed that the boiler was working without any indication of the burner or anything,, but the water took time to warm, the heating also took time as well..
i am worried the PCB has failed..
so did you manage to repair yours
what was the problem..
