Hi all,

I've had a ideal isar 4 years,

Just replaced the pcb last week. (typical fault)

This week pressure drop and a leak out of the bottom.
It leaks faster when the heating fires up the preassure gauge is a bit eratic and the sounds like there is air in the boiler the vent sometimes lets it out.
preassure rising most likly the expansion vessel?
but the leak?
Any idea's? it seems high up or as high as i can trace it due to the galv sheet hiding everything at the back!
My ex boss stopped fitting these along time ago due to the problems wish I didnt have one now.
I've been out of the game for a while so any pointers would help.
Even though I will have to take the whole thing off the wall to replace the expansion and its in a fitted cupboard!!

Thanks.

Hi bunny
if its too much bother to remove the boiler due to its location etc why not install another expansion vessel adjacent to the boiler that might be easier for you
regards
paul

if its a real pain try some internal leak sealer like sentinol ls1

is the leak coming from inside the combustion area possible faults auto air vent leaking and possible leak on bottom right hand side of heat exchanger.
If expansion vessell is leaking it will be boiler off the wall, its not a bad job to do to be honest.
Also are you sure its not coming off plate hex.
Good luck !!

to be honest if it was only a expansion fault I would of just fitted a new external one but its leaking aswell, One of the lads said he had a shrader valve leaking on one and a knackered expansion more peved that I cant see where its coming from lol
Back boilers wern't very good on gas and a bit heavy to remove but they ran for ever pity combis dont lol
