Ideal logic plus 30 kw, gas rated at 21 kw net on hit water. Inlet pressure 21mb at boiler, flow rate 12 lit pm, temp 40.3 degrees. Have checked, gas valve, injectir internal boiler pipework for blockages. Fga readings fine, boiler gas rate on central heating 23.5 kw net, service mode gas rate spot on. Any ideas please, the hot water is not as hit as ut was. Diverter ok, plate fine

Ntc ok / readings somewhere near ?

Im

I dont think thete is a hw thermister, can check the flow and returns thermisters. I take it the gas input is not directly related to the flow turbine speed, can anyone explain how the hot water side works in relation to the gas valve and fan speed??

Flow turbine has big say in gas being burnt as it gives flow rate signal to pcb via hall sensor.
How old is boiler as turbines can get a bit cruddy depending on location after a couple/few years meaning hall sensor info to pcb may be out thus lower gas rate on DHW.
You may be able to clean up a bit once removed but does not last forever.
I usually change the turbine & job done,
Cheers,
Andy

if you've got the logic plus turn hot tap on full and leave it on. then turn mode switch to reset position and hold it there for a few seconds and boiler will go into installer mode burner will go off but will relight display will now scroll through last ten faults then display current parameters. flow temp, return temp.... and will then show dhw flow rate in L/min which turbine is registering to pcb. if this is lower than your reading from a combi cup or other device tbh your better changing the turbine than trying to clean it. also look at the red light on the hall sensor is it a steady red light or flickering, if flickering turbine on way out

if you've got the temp clamps for your analyser put one one on flow and one on return from main hex to check temp diff across plate. hw out should read approx same as return temp if plate not blocked and circulating properly

best way to check max gas rate is to turn heating on then put boiler into service mode high then it runs the full 30k into the radiators and eliminates poor hot water fow

bit i missed off first post. after turning tap on turn both hw and ch to minimum settings then hold mode switch in reset for a few secs. when boiler goes into installer mode then turn hw back to max. rest as above

Thanks very much all, about a month ago the hot water was playing up, hall sensor flickering. I took out the flow turbine and cleaned it up and all was good or so i thought. Hence a new flow turbine is required. How come Ideal coundnt tell me that when i phoned them??

all boiler manufacturers tech helplines are only good up to a certain point. if you really want to know you need to find your local engineers from different manufacturers who work on these every day and try and get their number if possible. an awful lot will be willing to help if they can of course you will get the occasional miserable bugger who says its not my job

no point in trying to clean it if not spinning properly just change it as you said

What was the incoming cold water temp? i.e. what was your temp rise?
