Hi Guys

got some installs coming up and am getting a good deal on the ideal logic HE 30kw
Anyone out there got any past experience with these

Cheers

No experience but i have a customer who has asked me to price for one. Im not sure if i should. Is the 5 year warranty just to keep there engineers in work?

went to my merchant today for a cheap boiler for a cheap customer and mentioned ideal. The guy on the desk who I normally use for help eventually got off the floor, he,s an ex plumber who went for the easy life after a nasty accident, sio I changed my mind and went for my normal mid range priced remeha, easy to install and good backup.

I`m pretty sure that most folk know that Ideal of recent times are not ideal

Have any of you guys seen the new Logic?
If not how can you comment?
Not like the isar.
Every part of the boiler is new and every componant is class leading.
Please, make the effort to look at one in the flesh, before writing off the boiler.
Have fitted a couple, and know installers who have fitted up 50 of these boilers with no problems.
All that try one come back and fit another, ask any plumb center in the south west, they are selling loads with no issue.
Give a British company trying to sell a very good boiler a little break!

And before you ask, i do work for Ideal and am a installer, who also rates other makes.

When i was working as a manager for Eagaheat i went to the Ideal roadshow where they unveiled the boiler for the first time. It is totally different from the Isar and the design team seem to have put some real thought into the design , making it lighter and easier to install and work on than some other combis. I have fitted a few since and i have not had any issues !

Im afraid its like Chinese takeaways, you try one and the foods bad so you never go back. If you asked most people who have had trouble with their isar's if they would have another Ideal i know where they would tell you to go.

Mark,
There are a lot of installers in Plymouth now fitting Logics and very impressed with them. This includes a number of Worcester BI Installers.
Once people have seen inside the boiler and how good it is they are trying it and then purchase more. Ask in PTS or PC in Plymouth, they can tell you some of the guys using it.
Dan

Reread your post Mark, and i agree with you. Most guys tell me where to go, but once i have got them to see the boiler there attitude changes.
The Logic is getting a very good reputation.

too many bad experiences with ideals, the only good ones (for ease of repair) are mexicos. the second they decided to lump in pcb's and diverter valves that seem to be able to serie link the faults to the next piece in the queue it all went downhill for me. never will install another.
as old plumber says, and i constantly harp on about remeha avanta is the way forward

Dan, i remember when installers were fitting Chaffy Britony's (Combi's) and they thought they were brilliant boilers. Can you find 1 person who still thinks that? Then the Glowworm CXi's were popular with installers, would you have one?
OK i give you the benefit of the doubt that the new Ideal Logic is a good boiler. Would i recommend one? Probably not. Would i fit one? Yes if thats what was specified. I suppose time will tell how good these are.

Yes Ideal have had bad press over the Isar pcb issue but that is now sorted, to be fair to Ideal a lot of the problems with boilers in my area was with a well known goverment backed intallation that has also had bad press recently. Boilers being fitted quickly, systems not flushed ect, cannot realy blame the boiler for poor/bad installation. I had a factory visit in Hull to see to Lodgic seem they may have got it right this time all the parts are well known and tested but as you may say only time will tell. I have not fitted an Ideal for many a year but this Lodgic + is tempting very easy to work on and service.

I totally agree with that as i was a manager on the aforementioned scheme and a lot of the probs were down to install issues, although not all,Isars two probs were sticking or seized pumps and knackered pcbs
