ideal logic leaking through condensate

Called to a 18 month old ideal logic losing pressure through condensate needs topping up every 20 minutes ,ideal service calling monday.has anyone else had this on the new logic.

not good on a 18 month old boiler but it happens seen 2 greenstars do this,a few performa HE,s (but a cheap quick fix on them),and loads of other stuff with a aluminium silicate heat exchanger,not had one go on a stainless hex duotec yet

yes seems to be chucking out a constant stream of water through the condensate,prv dry as a bone.still in warranty so passed it on to ideal

on the performa/main/105 HE if it dumps down the condensate just replace the round hex front cover assembly not the whole part its about 68 quid delivered

at the top rhs?Fan spigot off, two heating pipes&clips off and remove cylindrical h/e

thats the one,you always need a new o ring for the main hex though

I've never had to do one but that's a time saver, also you might not know 1st time round If u came up against it. Well I would do know ta

Ps is there much difference between the mk1 duo tech 40he and the platinum 40he?The mi's (at a glance) make them look pretty much identical?

I've never had to do one but that's a time saver, also you might not know 1st time round If u came up against it. Well I would do know ta

it will be obvious if its gone you wont keep water in the boiler it will be leaking into the conden bottle,you will need one new oring,silicone grease to fit it in the hex and a small allen key in case you drop it into the main hex,i can change one in 30 mins according to puddle he can do it in twenty but i think he is lying LOL,:santa_cheesy: if you have one go pm me and i will sort you the part number for the hex and o ring

no,except the diverter valve and plate heat varies on the earlier versions there was a bypass pipe on the later it bypasses trough the plate heat exchanger,if you were fitting the duotec mk1 or plat mk1 today there are no mechanical differences,just 2 years warranty on the duotec 1 and 5 on the plat,BTW divertors and plate heats on the early duotec/plat/gold/promax are not interchangeable with later mk 1 versions

It's funny how different manufacturers make things easy and some make them hard.One of our boys had a leaking h/e on a Keston, same idea, leak down condi pipe. He fitted the new bits (burner&h/e came as one new part) and turned it on, it continually went to ignition lockout. After a bit of investigation it turned out There was a transit plate of sorts fitted between the burner&h/e. bloody kestons!!!!

Cool, the duo tech mk1 is £100 cheaper than the platinum, I'll give her both options (price and warranty differences)

i dont do kestons anymore,not worth the aggro had the fire brigade out to the last one i fixed in a school,that was eight years ago mind left it running overnight by request of the owner,neibour seen steam coming out of the flue, thought it was on fire the thick cut it is a condenser,but eight years ago i suppose they were not everywhere ,
fire brigade/police turned up it took some explaining to the numpty coppers and fire chief

on the performa/105he its the secondary heat exchanger that the seal goes on aint it? this doesnt suprise me on a ideal though to be fair! icos/isar have made me ££££ in repairs and replacements already they are poor!
my advice on ideal is pay for the biggest exstendend warranty etc you can get out of them as it will be worth it, then first time it breaks out of warranty and will cost over£150 to repair then replace it
