Hi all, preping a quote for a boiler install. Due to the new position of the boiler the best thing to do for both the customer and me, is to use the existing 15mm Gas and have the Flow and return going through the ceiling to tie into pipe work upstairs. To install 22mm for the gas would be major disruption for the customer, who are elderly and nice people. Mainly I have installed WB with 22mm supply. But i have just looked at an Ideal Logic +. 5 yr warranty and all the connections we need. Has anyone had any experience, good or bad, yet with this model of boiler? If it is crap we will stick with WB.....

you would be setting yourself up for a fall not upgrading the gas pipe,it may be amicable now but what if it went wrong in warranty, imagine younger members of the family getting involved they would not care how much you accommodated the old dears if someone comes in and slags you off,do it once do it right and do it above criticism also ideals are far from ideal if you know what i meen

The Ideal Boiler uses 15mm gas supply so there would be no need to change the gas pipe, 15mm is sufficient. Sorry, maybe i did not make my self clear. As long as the pressure is fine though!!!

cheers

If you have installed the boiler to BS6891, which states 20mb working pressure at the gas cock on the boiler then this will be fine. Analyise boiler to check the co ratio.
If you come across this boiler with a lower pressure but not under 14mb this is NCS.

its a risk you take, and if you use 15mm,only when you fga it,you will find if its worked,if not and you leave it,problems ahead
