Evening chaps, sorry I don't have too much info on this one but wanted to pick your brains. Customer has as old W2000 and the pilot is on but the boiler wont fire when there is a demand. He has been told by another (ex) bg engineer that its the gas valve without even seeing it. I for the life of me cant remember what the w2000 is. From memory its room sealed with a massive glass front on the case but he says it isn't glass. He's not too local so I just wanted some advice before travelling out to him. I'm afraid until I get there I wont know for certain which model etc it is, I seem to remember they do a balenced flue versio. Too.

It's an old relic, most parts are obsolete....

We can't give advice on gas safety advise unless your in the gas safe only forum :)

Its very old and most parts are not listed. Do yourself and your customer a favour and tell him so and offer to give a quote for a new boiler.

That will be the L model without the glass. The glass fronted one in a nice shade of dark brown was the ghia

beautiful boiler!.

i had one for 20+ years and never serviced it, only got rid to put a w/b 24 junior in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

check the room stat/honeywell programmer!

It was the WLX and Elan which had the glass front. Time to bin the W2000 one thinks. Probably is the gas valve, but doubt if you can still get one.

Before you condemn the boiler - or the gas valve - test the electrical first.
Shouldn't be that hard on an older boiler.
It could be as simple as a stuffed thermostat.

Put some time into it - you may be able to get it going - and when it dies you will have a better than even chance on getting the job replacing it.

if pilot lit external controls calling check 240 v to gas valve be solenoid not lifting be standard grey twist honeywll
