You can tell these engineer sorts have attempted a bit of diy plumbing as all the threads on compression fittings are covered in ptfe tape instead of the compressed olive. They also tend to stand watching you while you work, which is something I loathe with a vengeance. Come on people, if you go to the bother of getting a pro in to do your work, then the very least you can do is to trust him and let him get on with it without breathing down his neck.
