On my hot water cylinder there is a control unit, that has one dial and three *what look like* fuse sockets, and has a metal ribbon attaching it to the underside of the tank. The water has always been heated by the boiler, but I was wondering how/if I could control the immersion without the boiler, if I had to?

Actually doing some research, I think it's just a thermostat :blush5:
