Hi,
currently have a multi-fuel wood burner although pretty much condemned. Chimney got swept today and guy says perfect condition, concrete lined.
I'm looking to replace the stove only. The sweep said I should replace it with similar output (kw), although with the flue exiting the top directly up the chimney (it currently exits the rear on a stack of bricks).
i have a couple of questions I hope someone can help with.
There is already a register plate in place which fits a 6" diameter flue. What length of flue would I need? What length of flue should be above the plate?
The sweep also mentioned getting a burner/flue with a 'sweep entry' - is this on the flue to allow easy access for cleaning in future?
If I was to purchase a stove online is there anything in particular I should be looking for? And as the register plate etc is already in place, is this something I can fit myself? Or is a plumber essential?
A y advice would be appreciated.
Thanks, Phil
