Let me know how you get on with the install Billy..........i'd like an unbiased opinion from someone who has never fitted one. You know what the intergas fitters are like.....just like Landy drivers........cant be trusted to tell you they're crap................dons tin helmet and waits for the air raid siren.

I fitted one the other week. Don't know what all the fuss is about myself. I'm sure they have their uses but it's not a day to day product in my books. To much of a hard sell, ugly as hell and more awkward to fit than a lot of other manufacturers.

Got it from plug centre.

Plumb centre ....

Just to add, it is a good quality product I'm not knocking it. It's like driving around in a land rover all year round in the uk, over engineered for its main purpose on a day to day basis and lacking the finesse of its competitors?

Sorry ted ive already fitted them for my apprentiship trainer.
But that makes me un biased i guess as it wasnt my own

Good pieces of kit over all. I like the heat exchanger and how accessible things are.
main con is it looks ugly and the timer is fiddely to set.

i will be responsible for the lifetime of this boiler aswell.
Customer is my parents best friends and they asked what i would have in my own place. I said intergas without hesitation.

I'm going to ask the local rep to come out for the commissioning process

while on the accredited installer course they had us modify the fault code listings to what is most likely the case. Quite surprising that they didnt just stick to the MI's and helped us out with the more likely faults. Only manufacturer that seems to do this!

if i discover anything crap about them then i will happily list it!

Accessible parts? The pump is stuck behind a stupid plastic tray that is fixed in position . I dropped the vent plug as the pump was seized when I fired it up first time and it took me about 10 minutes to get it back while boiling water was dribbling over my fingers.

i also don't like the jig as unless the fittings are done up perfectly tight/loose the tails won't go in without catching on the olives? Not sure if I was just unlucky with this one or not?

Another annoyance was there is no earth block available on the wiring connections, only spade connections so if you fit any controls that require earthing or want to use a different lead to the one supplied you can't take it from the boiler.

Oh and there are not enough holes in the jig, only 4 I think so you have to drill another in if your unlucky enough for the first screw to hit a spot which doesn't provide a good fixing.

other than that it was o.k though.

.........i think my memory needs to be refreshed. Then again i am comparing it against worcester....

I just use a crimping tool and crimp a female spade on the earth. It's not rocket science.

Its an over site though as most heating engineers don't have crimping tools to hand unless you own a land rover so that you can add spot lights and useless tat to your metal fetish toy.

I've never in 20 years changed a plate on a Worcester.

What warranty do these Intergas boilers get and how much is a 24 kW combi?

ooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh.......wait for it!!!!!!!!!!!!

5 years if you do the platinum installer course. Price is on the higher end of the market.

With getting 7 on a Worcester and having good terms, I'd struggle to convince myself to try one I think.

I had heard the good reviews on here and when the customer requested an intergas I was keen to give one a go.

Its a unique product and well built buteo be honest I wouldn't spec it on the majority of jobs. It has its purpose on really skanky systems due to the 22mm waterways etc.

good boiler but not something you could be proud of showing off and there are easier boilers to fit with better warranties.

im still waiting despite the rep giving everyone a nudge, to be booked onto the boiler course.
