Hi everybody, before I posted I have checked to see if anyone else has similar issues to what I am experiencing and although some are very close nothing matches. I am not a DI, plumberY BOD, so bare with my rough terminology but would really appreciate any advice you may have. I am just running through the scenario that I experience each day, its a bit descriptive but hopefully it paints a picture of what I do each day!
Each morning I go to airing cupboard turn the CH on (siemens control panel), go downstairs and turn the thermostat up, can see the boiler (BAXI discontinued model) in the kitchen firing up and minutes later the radiators are warming up no problem. When the house is warm enough I turn down the thermostat but leave the CH on.
Later that day the house is cold, I turn the thermostat up but the radiators are not warm, there is hot water but nothing to the radiators. The only way I manage to get the radiator working again is to go to the airing cupboard and turn off the main switch which powers off the control panel and the (ground fos) pump. I can see the lever on the drayton motorised valve go to the right( default position) . I can also freely move it to the left where the catch is and it does reset back so the spring is working. I turn the main switch on and can see the lever move all the way to the left and then the radiators are warming up. I have tried turing the CH off after the house has warmed up and then turn that on when I need the heat and that worked a couple of times but not as consistently as turning the whole system off/on again.
Now from further reading I have done, I am guessing when I turn the thermostat on, a message should be sent to the valve to divert the water to the radiators but also the boiler should fire up. When it the radiators are not warming up but the thermostat is on, the lever on the valve is in the middle but it feels loose if that makes sense.
I don't have much history of the CH setup as I have only been in the house for a month.
Any advice on where I can look or if I am doing something wrong much appreciated.
