hi, I came across a shower pump problem today, maybe someone has come across this, a large house with 3 shower pumps on the floor beside cylinder. PUMP1 is neg head pump supplying a shower/sauna area.
PUMP2 is positive head stuart turner supplying first floor bathroom
PUMP3 is positive head stuart turner supplying 2 ensuites in ground floor.
Problem arises when customer washes hands in ensuite and PUMP3 comes on(as it should) in ground floor, it seems to cause air (I think ) to enter PUMP2 , because PUMP2 clicks on/off continously until tap is opened on first floor. this only happens maybe once or twice a day and its not easy to catch . the reason I think its air is because PUMP2 hot supply is teed off top of cyl (horizontal pipe after 316) then has nrv before going onto pump. cold supply to pump is teed off 1inch cold supply to toilets ,this also has nrv before it goes onto pump. other pumps are piped correctly,(dedicated hot supplies from cyl and colds from tanks in attic) im thinking of removing nrvs to see if air vents back towards cyl. or is this problem something else. PUMP2 will click on/off for hours if a tap is not opened. but I find it strange that PUMP3 seems to cause this.only maybe once or twice a day. I tried to recreate problem by opening and closing tap in ensuite but although PUMP3 came on and off( as it should) in the 2 hours I was there PUMP2 never came on. Though it did when I first arrived, but I opened tap on first floor and it stopped, But i couldn't get it to do it again.
Any ideas Thanks.
