I dont work on gas at the moment but i have RGI cert from Ireland and just woundering is that transferable over here? cheers.

Pretty sure you will have to do ACS but can go as Cat 1 which makes life easier. Contact E&U Skills at euskills. co. uk and see what they say.

You might be ok. Have a read of this

Far as I know there is a reciprocal arrangement between Gas Safe and RGII

It may involve an interview / meeting to confirm competence and to ensure you are aware of the minor differences in work practices.

I know a Gent came to Ireland from the UK and had no problem being accepted by RGII, same applies both ways I hope as I have some
business in Belfast later this year.

Hi, I was in the same situation as you last year, I had to do a changeover course which I did in Belfast for a week.

Welcome to the forum Den85

I think with RGII it's no more than half a day, did Gas Safe make you do a course that lasted a week?

I just want to fit one boiler and pressurised cylinder changing from a combi boiler.

Croppie, you are officially on stand by :)

Hi Peteheat, think it was four days iirc, on the fifth day I did the unvented course. SGAS in Belfast was where I did it, but I have fires, cookers boilers and water heaters on my ticket. I am thinking about doing commercial soon as that's where I'd love to be working but I've no experience.

Ya still there, I hadn't much dealings with him besides booking the course initially They're facility is quite good and compared to when I did my GID in Ireland a few years back, the ACS course is miles better.

ccts are only a few minutes away from the job.

Hmmm maybe I could offer them the facility for "practical training" ?
