Is a gas certificate compulsory?

I've recently moved into a new build apartment and have not been issued with a gas certificate.

Is it compulsory to issue a gas certificate?

the builder is saying i dont get a certificate directly from them but i'll get one from Gas Safe when installation is registered

is this correct?

you should have one off the installer and one off gas safe who notify building control

You should have a building compliance certificate from Gas Safe/Building control and a gas certificate of the installer. The cert from Gas safe only covers the boiler and its controls as per benchmark, it will not cover the gas carcus and other appliances like a hob.

That was what I thought but the installer has told me they don't have to issue a gas certificate but that I'll get one from gas safe once the installation has been registeredIs the installer talking bull then? well almost, you going self employed when you finally get the push? its stressful at first but worth it if you can get the work.

according to gas safe its not always a legal requirement to issue a safety cert.

Na no gas hob or fire just combi boilerTbf I ain't fussed about gas cert just trying to be a pain in arse for the builder as are rubbish
