Hi, problems recently (insurance claim for all 3 floors of house damaged by leaking due to corroded radiators - house is 14 years old and apparently tank in loft not filling up correctly, therefore radiators not filling correctly, hence the corrosion - more than one plumber out, and yet no solution). At the moment we have heating when the timer switches on, but boiler will not relight when thermostat recognises it is too cold (worked fine for first few days after new thermostat fitted in last month - Plumber 1) - can sometimes relight the boiler by switching it on and off, but not always. Sometimes we have hot water, sometimes we don't. New pipe also fitted to boiler in last 3 weeks as supposedly it was 'blocked and not turning the fan on?' (Plumber 2). Again, this worked for first few days, but not now, again having to physically turn boiler on which will only work sometimes. At a loss to know who to call back (if any) - any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi Thanks for your reply - Boiler is Myson Apollo / Tank is Boiler Mate II / Thermostat is HoneyWell.

Hi, It's difficult to say as several things could cause this to happen. You need to do some basic electrical checks to determine if it is your boiler or an external control. Do you have a 3 or 2 port valve by the hot water cylinder? If so, this could also cause issues if it's not switching every time the stat calls for heat. If in doubt, get an electrician out to carry out some checks for you.
