basically i got a hous einspection and the guy said our furance needed a good cleaning and it would knock our levels down. our ppm (i think) was high. now they are down to 49. the people selling us the house cleaned it. but we want to make sure that they actually did something and arent just trying to offload the house. after all i dont want to die 5 months down the line if a bird builds a nest in my chimney. here is the new printout. if this reading is something to worry about then im going to just bite the bullet and buy a new furnace because carbon monoxide isnt a worry i want in the back of my mind the next few years

Do you mean the people selling the house actually did the work themselves or they got a Gas engineer to do it, if so you need to see his/ her report and readings.

Otherwise you need to get it looked at by a Gas engineer immediately, not because of the reading, but because of who may have done the work.

i had a house inspection done and the inspector told us the readings were high and said basically if something were to happen like the chimney got clogged i would die because of the levels being to high and said a good cleaning on the burners would most likely do the trick to make it normal. the person selling us the house works in that type of career field so we asked if he could do the cleaning and then retest it for us so we wouldnt have to replace the furnace and save us some money by cleaning it to a safe level. he did whatever to it (im assuming clean it, hes hard to talk to) and this is the readout he gave us telling us that it is now safe. since i dont know what percentages and numbers are the average for a good reading i figured id post the picture and see if anyone thinks these are levels to worry about or not? or if they seem to be a good range? if the numbers are bad then im just going to have to replace the entire furnace i guess when i buy the house.

Get a competent engineer to give your furnace a thorough inspection as soon as you move in. He or she will be able to advise whether it's safe or not.

Its sounds like open flued wau that they love across the pond,as above pay an engineer to inspect for it for you if you have concerns

If a bird builds a nest in the chimney it will make it burn badly and could cause harm anyway, regardless of how cleanly its burning now. If its open flued and the flue is pulling well then that's the most important thing. Get yourself a competent engineer to service the appliance and get yourself a carbon monoxide alarm for your own peace of mind.

Doesn't that give a ratio of 0.00158?
If so, then is it not safe as it's under 0.002 with the above percentage readouts?
I aint a gas man! So no hammers to be thrown my way, as it just a thought, from a 54 year old:)
Still, I'd get someone in to double-check AND fit alarms throughout the property goes without saying. That way you can sleep safe.
