you can convert to copper with a 15mm compression fitting and one of the adapters from shauns pic
Shouldnt need one but its always good to be prepared
 
Thanks all. Still confused as to what I will find inside that nut. An olive on a pipe? Something else? I will go for it anyway since everyone is saying can just swap. Just a cheapo bog standard TRV afterall.

So that rubber o-ring is presumably not actually creating a seal inside the valve body and it's the tapered brass bit acting as an olive that makes the seal?
