Hi chaps

Got a job to change 15 toilets in 15 flats, pretty straight forward but the stopcock for the entire property is at ground floor with no isolation in each flat, the toilets don't even have isolators on them

Anyone give me advice on how to drain pipes down without making a swimming pool? The owner wants a sure stop swith where the stopcock is now so a pipe freezing kit would be needed, also trying to talk her into fitting a sure stop in each flat but if that's a now would best option be to freeze pipe next to each toilet??

forget freezing bud ... youre gonna have to arrange with the landlord to access each flat to fit stop taps before you can start changing the toilets over. Use wet vac to drain when disconnecting the toilets. You sure there isnt any way to isolate water to each flat? seems strange that the builder would do that

Some of the isolating valves you have found may turn off water to more than one flat.
Maybe check that if you can.

If that's the case you may find that there is going to be no way to isolate each flat individually.

The only way to approach this project is think big and charge properly.
You are in charge of the project and when hired you call the shots. Its not
15x or so little ones - its a whole building that you need to plumb out properly.

I would love this one so much opportunity to make plenty and do a good job

Water -stop taps etc its quite straight fwds CHK .

AND if its private landlord DO get your material cost up front ad do
25% one week and get paid then move on to the next 25%
