hi all.. and merry christmas,, been working at friends house today and they've been having a nightmare, isolating the water in the property,, the stopcock is behined the kitcken cupboards somewhere, the kitchen fitter didnt make anyway of getting to it.. anyway they turned the water off using stopcock outside on neibours drive.. anyway it got me thinking... if the water is isolated to the house,, and the hot water tap is turned on,, will the combi boiler be damaged as the combi is calling for hot water because the tap is open,, but the water is off.. will it burn out or something.

probably stupid question.. but would be gratefull if some1 could clear this up for me. thanks

As the water is turned off to the house then the water supplying the boiler is also off as it is fed from the mains water! Therefore, unless I am mistaken there will be no water to draw off from the boiler & therefore no damage caused!
