Any one got any idea if the isolation valves on an this boiler; Ideal instinct. Which is the cheap version of a logic are reliable once turned on and off. Or is there a good chance they will leak? I know Valliants are solid. Is quiet a new boiler 3 years old so maybe ok I hope...

Normally find ideal valves cheap and nasty eg handles don't work or they drip etc

Thanks, its the dripping I don't want. Have to change a plate heat exchanger on one. Do you tend to take the risk they don't leak or do a drain down of the full system or partial drain down.

Depends if you have the time to faf with them I don't use them unless I really need to

I always like to drain the system if not a massive ballache as will drain out the parts you are working on too (especially if the boiler is in the old airing cupoard upstairs, you can drain both side easily then!)

Would be easier to isolate the valves on the boiler with the position on the boiler, but like said if it leads to leaky levers on the isolating valves and time saved will be lost and some.
