Hi guys,

I'm looking for a bit of help with my toilet that won't flush. I took the top of the toilet off and the connecting bit (sorry for not knowing the correct name for any parts) just came away from the flusher itself.

I'm hoping this is an easy fix and I am able to fix it myself... any help or advise would be greatly appreciated. I've attached a couple of photos which may be able to help.

Edit: It wouldn't let me post actual images...

Welcome John-boy.

I saw your post yesterday and was hoping one of the moderators would help you with downloading pictures.

I'm afraid it is impossible to help out without being able to see your problem.

Hopefully this reply will instigate some interest for you.

If you mean the button has come away from the plastic white box, then you need to push the slider in and reattach it, if you are unable to do this as its broken, then I'm pretty sure a Fluidmaster Flush valve will fit into the existing cradle.

Fluidmaster Push Button Cable Dual-Flush Valve | Fill & Flush Valves | NoLinkingToThis

Turn off the water to the toilet, and The fat round bit which the cable is should be connected to will twist round and pull out.
Put the new one in exactly the opposite and fit the new flush button it comes with.

If if it won't fit then you will need to disassemble

That bit on the toilet side, just push the blue slider in...push it onto the back of the button and let go of the slider.

OK, this is getting weird now. You two guys can obviously see a picture that I can't. Are you psychic or am I a numpty?

You're a numpty ;)

The OP included a link to a picture, the 'ht tp' just needs the space removing when you paste it into the address bar, he had to include the space as the forum won't allow new users to post links or images and the space stopped the forum from seeing it as a web address.

It's a macdee valve but fluid master dual flush will fit into cradle and install with new push button

OK, so I learn something new every day.
