as many off you will know,i am not a worcester fan,but i cant fit a baxi platinum or poterton performa in this house as the customer has had a baxi barcelona for a few years so naturally does not want a another baxi/potterton product [even though the performa is a much more reliable machine] the choice is a 30 kw worcs 30 cdi or vailent but this is a SYSTEM boiler and vailent[or so i am told] only go up to 24kw, so how reliable is this worcester going to be?

why dont you google vaillant or look on their site, ecotec 630 or 637 system boilers are available. When looking for information on manufacturers products their own sites much more reliable than a forum:rolleyes:

what output is a 630-30kw? i need a 30kw for the ch and dhw load

the biggest problem is its a last minute job for tomorrow,if the customer was willing it would be a 28kw performa but they are out of stock till tuesday,so the only boiler pts can get is a worcester

Is there a City Plumbing near you that you have an account with? They often keep GW in stock?

Why arent you a Worcester fan? Brilliant boiler.

Worcester boilers are altogether heavier than most today, plus their rather ambiguous flashing blue light fault indicator is of no real help at all; Vaillant's and Glow Worm's fault code system is much easier to work with but admit the three most installed makes of boilers for me are the three makes I've just mentioned.

Not installed a Viessmann though Blackcatgas, have heard and read a few not too encouraging things about them though. By the way, "black cat" - you a Mackem?

Mk1 s were in Viessmans words "a train wreck", they used cheaper components in order to bring the price down for the british market.
The latest models use the top quality parts from the 200 series which is a serious piece of Germanic kit. including a unique hydroblock made by Grundfos, and the heat exchanger is stainless steel and has a 0% failure rate in 18years.
Iam a Notts county fan btw Transcoman! lol

They wouldn't have been the only manufacturer to have tried that, think some did it to see how well their wares would sell.

Similar to a Vaillant then really? An impressive failure rate though.

Blimey, you've been going through the mills like we have down in Pompey but at least we had a great win today. You are better off without Campbell, he did well for us until his last season and all he wanted to do was pick up his wages - you did well to get shot of his contract.

just to be clear,i look after 2 septate housing associations/property management agencies, this adds up to 120 properties they have a mixture of worcesters and glow worm cxi boilers and vailents . i am not impressed with any of these.to be fair i cant comment on a visseman as i have never seen one there are several reasons why i specify the potterton performa no big part being to the 130+ i have fitted over 7 years being super reliable, but like all boilers they do have problems the biggest single one being the recuperater bursting and chucking water into the condesate trap but this has happened 5 times, they cost me 47 pound inc vat and take 3/4 of an hour to change because one thing baxi cant be criticised for is they design with maintenance in mind, this customer is addament on a worcester because it has a blue light!!!!!, personally pretty aint reliable, like a lot of you guys i base my choice of macine on what works and the performa being a baxi 105 is well time proven, the only one i would not fit again is anything with a instant badge on it because these really are utter crap, but i am tempted to look at a weissman over a worcester as this guy does not want a performa because of his nightmare of a barcelona and sadly muck sticks, which is a shame, performa parts are cheap, and they are reliable

The problem with Veissman is you need a ten year warranty as it takes about that long to get through to technical!! Only joking they are a good piece of kit but you still cant beat worcester for parts back up and after service.

Try getting tech support fm glow worm at least 40 minute wait, worcester 5-10 minutes, remeha 2 minutes. Could it be worcester and remeha dont have as many problems???

I find that very, very difficult to understand; as you can see from my sig, I am an approved installer for Glow Worm and have never had any difficulty in getting in touch with GW Tech Support. Mind you, I've hardly ever had to, and as yet not come across anybody who has needed to much - until now of course.

How big is your customers house as 30Kw is over 100,000 btu's, must be one mother of a system??? I work mostly on Vailliant boilers, dont like the newer models as they are more Saunier Duval than Vaillant, (hose pipe & jubilee clip boilers) but that also goes for the Glow-Worm's as once you remove the outer case it's "spot the difference" as they are all the same company now days. My favorite make so far has to be Buderus, probably a bit on the large side but very easy to work on, they are also linked with Worcester as far as I know.
