....... but I can't remember or find it.

Long boring story cut short......

Just had a look at a blocked sink and they have a problem with there heating.

Usual problem heating is on with hot water. I think its a 2 or 3 port valve but on a very cursory search (house is in a major mess) I couldn't find it in the airing cupboard and apparently there is no wiring junction box (not found it, house holder said they've never seen one).

The other issue is all the pipes have been boxed in and have no access points (they'd have to be smashed).

About a week ago, someone suggested an alternative to the 2/3 port valve and said you can tell by the amount of pipes coming off the boiler.

So, can someone please enlighten me to this system?

Also the system is extremely noisy (not tested it yet), any pointers?

House is 17 ish years old.

well if theres 4 pipes its usually a gravity system and some times people do put valves on or just 1 pipe and behing units somewhere it will split with 2 x2 port valves
