Interesting article.

We are lucky in many ways in that we operate in a protected profession and this does,to some extent,preserve status and income.

Leaving that aside,just because someone is not registered,it doesnt make them incompetent or a cowboy !

And conversely just because someone is registered it doesn't mean that every job they do will be perfect. (see post re gasfire A.R recently)
 
Do we operate in a 'protected' profession?

Has Gas Safe registration improved our status?
A)No it is not a protected profession. B) there are Gsr people about who could not run a bath, let alone put two bits of pipe together. There are of course a lot of good ones around
