Got to replace a water supply pipe from a water storage facility down to a hamlet consisting of several farms plus houses. 2" MDPE line.
Sounds straightforwards, but now for the fun part - the pipe goes across an inaccessible area of moor which is really boggy in places. No access for a mini digger in those areas so some spade work needed! However estate workers can be available for any hard graft!
Another challenge is getting power to an electrofusion machine in these areas as vehicular access for a generator is impossible within several hundred metres so a small generator has to be lugged about. A quad bike is available for this purpose.
It's also one of the bleakest, most windswept areas of Yorkshire!
Not decided whether to just keep it local but if anyone is in the North Yorkshire area and interested in helping out I would like to know.
