Job to look at in the morning. Triton power shower, poor pressure. what to check?

Hi guys, I have been asked to go and have a look at a Triton power shower in the morning.

I don't know the model, if it's tank fed etc.

What things should I be looking for or have in mind to check before I get there?

Pump needed?

Flange needed?

Blockage/restriction somewhere.

Anything else?

Also they have complained of poor pressure in general, i'm thinking maybe stopcock is not turned on fully but that's wishful thinking. What can i do to improve pressure overall.

Pumps probably goosed, does it still run? or just dribble out?
Poor pressure, is it a flat? combined cold feed and hot water tank assembly? if so they'll always have gash pressure dude.. unless a pump is put in

I would take off the handset and run it straight out of the hose before i did anything

I have no idea what the set up is yet. Was really looking for inspiration and things to look out for. I do not know if they have a pump yet.

Looked at one for a rather hot neighbour last year, said it had just been dribbling with no pressure then stopped. Isolated electrics and removed cover to find the wiring was cooked! Took longer to drink the glass of wine she offered.

Thanks! I am familiar with those.

A few times I have been sent to have a look at dodgy showers, they had these in the property and a pump sorted it. Plus a flange.

Which leads me on to my next question

How do i know which type of pump I should put in and how do i decide what flange to use. (if they are needed)

Universal pumps cost the same as negative head ones and you don't need to worry about the relative heights of pump, tank and shower head.

Essex flange for preference but warix/sussex/surrey will do the job..

Stuart Turner universal twin, if it's feeding the hole place then 3bar? not sure if you'll have the space on the top of one of them for a cylinder/slurry flange to feed the hot though, if not then tee it off as close to the draw off of the tank as possible.
Talking a decent amount of wedge then mate

I will have a look tomorrow, If it's not something I can deal with there and then, I will get some pictures and tell her that I will get her a price and confirm a date to get the job completed. (she is only in tomorrow morning so I wont be putting myself under too much pressure, I would rather go back in the week after I have had a look)

And then once I have pictures and more info I will be back on here

Just as a foot note, I had one recently that was a shower hose that collapsed when the pump came on. Unfortunately he got a new pump before I found the fault.

He,s still a youngster. He hasn't learnt that bit yet.

sounds like an all in one powered shower!.

check the mi's are plumbed up coeerctly from the h/c source. if its a diy bodge the hydralics may be wrong.

And ask loads of questions, like has it ever worked. Let the guy know the more honest he is the quicker the diagnosis.
