last night got a mail ,from a heating engineer looking for a job as PAYE !
asked him of his salary expectation and he went MIN £250.00 to start from for each day+ could very of job location and job type he has lots of experience 20 years .
my point is if I had a chance to sign up with a company who will pay me £250 per day monday to friday I will be very very happy !
i do not know if he was on a wind up or must had few drinks before he replay to my mail

I am pricing my job at this wages and keep loosing jobs , how can any one expect to be payed £250.00 day rate ????

Well I've been in plumbing for over 30 years not 20 and no way could I earn £250 a day with the current economic crisis and the way the plumbing industry has went with it!

What type of work is that doing?
im on £210 a day plus fuel allowance subbing at the moment plus all the works on my doorstep.
those rates are probably after the agencies get their mucky little fingers on your wages

installing plumbing and heating on HA/Counsil contracts normally. Not sure what service work would bring in. Normally £450 a heating system if on price, tat back to builder. Not agency either. I know of some guys on less.

that's hard graft, I've never done installations on a contracting basis so don't know how the rates have changed.
Im doing service and repair work on a council contract at the moment and it's less money than what I have worked on at BG etc, but it's local and suits me down to the ground while it lasts.

im on £200 a day for 2 man install team, around £130 for a 3 man team, its a graft but im used to it as i dont really do much servicing/repairs always been installs.

We usually have a 3 man team on a friday for an early finish

ave never got £200 a day am lucky to get £150 and am self employed love to no how you all manage to get that amount cos no one will pay it, if i go in what i would call high they always end up getting someone else and i loose out think i have only ever got £200 once and that was someone elses job and me helping them am lucky to take home £350 a week most of the time dont no why i both probs cos i can pick my own hours and do things in my own time

well sparra im now working for a company as a SE worker, so will be on their GS just need to have my own PLI. I am on price work which is £200 for a 2 man heating system which we usually get done in around 10 hours, 3 man team is around £130 which can get done quicker obviously and can be finished in the afternoon.

works out around £18-20 an hour. No travel allowances, i get a lift to job though so not using my own van others have a company van but i think if i used my van to jobs i would get some sort of allowance.

That's why I dont really understand how businesses operate at around at £200 a day or even below that, when I can get this type of salary with no grief

i have not contact him as yet , i had the to let go the plumber I was using on my jobs ! I am waiting for work to pick up and I will be needing a plumber to work with me and my labour ! but will advertise here when the right time come ! Tbh i only said to to cool down the thread as everyone wanted to cut his legs and head off and drink his blood on that thread , you all remember right ?! lol
