Ello peps,

Been offered to do a bit of jobbing work. Ive never done this before and have looked into it a bit more and it seems that "the people in the office" in not so many words ask you to screw the customer. Im sure this isnt the case with all of these firms but is this something i should steer well clear of? I work hard and have no interest in trashing my rep with local business.

Do any of you do this jobbing thing? Is it worthwhile if you get with a decent firm? Are they all scammers or have I just found a bad'un?

ooohh... Matt Allbright will be coming for you, Look out for buttonhole cameras! lol:biggrin5:

Exactly what I thought, think ill steer well clear - cheers CES

thats the way call out companies work they have very high overheads from lots of advertising youll be lucky to see fifty percent of the invoice ive known it to be as low as 30 percent some charge hourly and will expect to to drag the job out as long as possible otheres charge a call out which they get and then you get half the invoiced labour
you can earn big money if your fairly ruthless and even bigger money if your a real crook

I do servicing and repair on a contract basis for a larg firm, would you class this as jobbing??

I have always worked this way and found it the most enjoyable, unless you get stuck on a job and it throws your whole day out!

done a bit more research and this firm that approached me was actually investigated by watchdog, proper wrong'un this one I think
