2 weeks from moving into her £500,000 Eco house in the country provided by us. This beggars belief. Any body on this forum been involved with the plumbing on this tax payer funded travesty !!!!

Hopefully it was matey going on his own after his two week intensive course. A house like that's not complete without an internal water feature.

Where did you read this? Probably a massive fabrication of the truth. Was it in the daily mail?

I tend to shy away from stories like this, because they are usually either untrue, or represent a tiny minority of claimants.

At the other end of the spectrum, every time the government cuts something, the BBC or Guardian find some tear-jerking story about some poor old granny or disabled person who doesn't know how they will manage without the axed public service.

Both types of story are over-blown by either right-wing or left-wing commentators to "prove" their point.

Sure there are abuses of welfare, and its surely right that they should be tackled. Similarly there are people in our society that are vulnerable and just as surely in need protection and support.

But in reality, governments can only deal with things at a high level, not at an individual level. Focussing on individual cases makes for effective journalism, but lousy public policy.

Very articulate, can you shorten it for me?

I remember the story now. She's in two houses knocked through, but apparently it's a health an safety issue. Hence the new spot.

You may be right Ray, but I believe this case is just the tip of the iceberg in benefit abuse. We could expand on the subject and ask how blatantly anti British Muslim clerics are allowed to live in taxpayer funded million pound plus abodes.

Stop that RIGHT NOW! We'll have none of your reasoned, balanced and well-thought-out comments here, thank you! We came here for a good old-fashioned witch-hunt! I blame foxes, me. And immigrants. In fact an immigrant fox ate my granny and stole her pension...

Was that in the Sunday Sport ?

Oh here we go again.

Give me a few months I'm trying to think of something balanced and measured to come up with.

raising 11 kids is a job and a half!! but a drain on the economy, especially if they all do the same as mum in 15 years time imo

Its a bloody joke....11 kids! Absolutely ridiculous.

If i were prime minister i would outlaw this.

Why should the state pay for so many kids.

Should be allowed four maximum any further babies should be taken by the state and allocated to one of the many hard working couples who for one reason or another can't conceive.

This would stop these idiots breeding indiscriminately

[h=1]Jobless mother-of-11 is told she is NOT allowed to move into bespoke £500,000 taxpayer-funded home 'because it won't meet her needs' - Story here[/h]

I have the misfortune of sharing the same county as this family! Fortunately it's a big county so I'm never likely to have any contact with her or the children. However, I do know of some that have. Some of the older children have been involved with the police on occasions.

Whilst the houses were being built they were regularly being vandalised. It took them a while to find out who was doing the vandalism but it turned out to be a gang of local youths. Involved in that local gang of youths were several of the youngsters from the family due to move in to the house. Despite security being on site, supposedly 24/7 after the worst of the damage was caused, they managed to steal several thousand pounds worth of plant machinery that was on hire from a local firm.

I don't usually like to cast my opinion on these sorts of matters, but this situation particularly frustrates me as I class myself & my missus to be honest & hard working trying to provide for our family, as I know there are millions of others out there doing as we are. Then there are those that do as little as possible & get it all given to them for little effort!
