Hi
i am new to the forum so please exuse if i have missed a thread on this topic.
I have been contacted by a number of maintenance companies offering emergency jobs to be covered, and have actually done a few jobs close to home. However i find that getting paid after the job is difficult. had refused to do jobs from these companies that phone you out of the blue but i got roped in again a few weeks ago and i did one job for them but have refused further jobs until i was paid.
i don't know if its appropriate to name and shame these companies on here, but i am sure there are other people (tradesmen)out there being conned.

has anyone else had similar experience and any suggestions on the topic.?

There are lots of threads about various companies. Most people steer well clear of the lot of them.

Sorry you didn't find this earlier! At least you haven't paid *them* to get on their books, as some have.

let us know who they are so we all know to avoid them , scammers

one i did a job for a short while ago is called OneCall(UK) also have site as www.emergency-assist.co.uk .
looked all cosha but after the job i found they want to pay their own rates.
£20 per hour for plumbing and £30 for the first hour inc. callout. wanted the ins and outs of everything to pay out.
at these rates was not worth even trying to claim. maybe when i'm desperate!
another one was UK Assist.
they have fancy websites and look tempting, but ignore invoices.

my last job was for LOM Maintenance, its been over two weeks and have now have verbally promised to 'raise' a cheque for my invoice.
anyone dealt with any of these?

sorry this has been posted in the wrong section!
can this be moved to the plumbing section?

Thanks!

Has ANYONE else had any dealings with any of the above or are there any others to avoid.
Lets share names and be aware!
