So we've all made mistakes yes? We've all done jobs where you've had to make connections that you're always a little worried about.
Back in April 2010 I did a bathroom and I still had a lot to learn as it was early days but basically the new bath was 2" higher than the old one and the hot (gravity) was on a lead pipe with a bit of 22mm wiped into the end.
The lead was all over the house and by no means could I rip it all out or anything with the low price I'd come in at. So to make up the gap I decided to PTFE 4 tap extensions together with a fibre washer top and bottom and all was well until 7:00pm the other Friday (Good Friday) when I get the call its leaking and Homeserve guy is there slagging me off saying they wont cover it as its an unrecognised method or whatever and has turned the water off.
I rushed straight round and sorted everything for free. Just wondered what others would have done? It was only leaking from the bottom fibre washer and 2 years after I'd done the bathroom she had a combi put in some that connection was now full pressure so it held a futher 5 years.
Typical that it was Good Friday! No way would I do that connection like that now but I needed a work around to get the water back on.
