After today I'll start with-

Don't trust them to shut bleed screws before refilling a system.

Don't leave them to top up the system when you bleed the rads.

Don't trust them to cut the correct side of a gate valve on a cylinder change. That was a bad bad day!

Any work in a ceiling... Unless its fully boarded!

Carry that bucket of sludge down stairs!

Do any form of tile measuring/cutting/fixing whatsoever.

Don't trust them to cut the correct side of a gate valve on a cylinder change. That was a bad bad day!

I've cut wrong side of an isolation valve, cold main, freezing cold water, upstairs cylinder cupboard.

Water everywhere, heart pumping rapidly, shaking like mad, trying to stop the flow with my hands, dust sheet, even taking my top off, whilst shouting down to my mate to turn the mains off, (I'm not very loud).

Finally mains turned off, recomposed myself, soaked up all water upstairs, with jumper, dust sheet, customers towel.

Went downstairs expecting to see a big bulge and water dripping from the ceiling, couldn't find anything. Turns out it all came out through one of them floor to ceiling built in cupboards that the customer doesn't use.

Customer didn't have a clue about what just happened, I didn't say anything.

BUT you can trust him/her to be on the mobile constantly texting to other muppets, not knowing a pair of grips from a screwdriver, never being able to find something, so you have to climb out of the loft to find out its exactly where you told them it would be.

To be sitting down on their backside as opposed to looking where the next thing is to do, for them not to understand that the quicker they work the quicker we both finish.

Try and explain to them that my 75 year old father in law has more of an idea and is of more use than 90% of the numb nuts you work with!

i gave the 22mm cutters to one boy and told him which 22mm pipe to cut so he put them down picked up the 15mm ones and cut the live main

Told one years ago to cut me a foot of pipe, looked at me, shrugged and said "doesn't that depend on how big your feet are"....

Ive done some mistakes but nothing as numb as that.

Ive watched an apprentice be told over and over through out the day that you need to solder both sides of a fitting at same time only for him to still be soldering 1 side at a time at end of day and wondering why every joint leaked :75:

listened to an ex spark who had just failed his acs for 4th time complaining that they wouldnt just give him the answers.

Some really intelligent guys out there

When I used to fit Ventialtion we had some right stooopid divs work with us, one really wound me up as he called the CAD Drawings "The Map" think he thought he was a pirate! He once screwed a 90 Bend onto a length of ducting, as a laugh we told him he put it on the wrong end the clown actually unscrewed it and fixed it to the other end!!
