Hi all
what sort of idiot designer comes up with this idea I have just had the most unpleasnt toilet experiance of my life, and it had nothing to do with a curry the night before.
The toilet in question, is glued to the cistern, all the years i have been plumbing I have never had to glue a cistern to a pan before.
has any one else come across this idea?
the kit comes with a pan, a large rubber washer, a small tube of glue, and a cistern, and dont forget the instructions, hah, an uninformative piece of paper not even good enough to wipe your !!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
you brush the glue onto the washer and place onto the pan, you then fight with washer for forty minutes to get it to stick to the pan, you have to do it this way because if you put the cistern straight on you get a mini niagra falls, if your lucky only moses turns up to part the waters and leaves his mate noah at home. you then have barely enough glue left to stick the cistern to the said washer.
bloomin stupid idea or maybe you guys know what I have done wrong and I am the stupid one any ideas??
Regards
Mike

shaun

soz you had a bad day. it happens.

cheers shaun
all I can say is I'm glad I did the job on day work, other wise I would be cursing.
Seems to me that my customers are finding more and more places to buy cheap imported rubbish that takes twice as long to fit, wich is great when doing day work.
regards
Mike

I know what you mean by cheap rubbish unguided1. I always felt sorry for people who went to the likes of the big supermarket stores to buy expensive looking plumbing gear and when we fitted their pride and joy we knew it was mostly sub standard for the price.

I don't know what you can do about it, people still buy the stuff and the shops still sell it thinking they want it because they buy it.

Hi Bernie
I think from now on unless I know that the stuff I am installing is something recognisable as a brand I wont be fitting it, unless I am being paid on day work. The particular job that I struggled with, with the wc, took me 5 days to fit out 2 shower rooms I am embarresed to say, so I am glad I didnt price it or I would have been out of pocket completely.
regards
Mike
