This is my first post. I am just about to go self employed for one reason and another. Big jump from having a regular income and am worried about not being able to get enough work. I am based in the South West and am looking for advise on hows best to get work. Is it worth advertising in local papers, paying to be listed on Yell etc, and agencies to join or any other tips etc? All advise will be very welcome.

I'm in the swest and the competition for work is very cut throat, you can try adverts but it can be costly with slight return . no point going the agency route as a subby if your currently on the books imho but best of luck .
