As I said, washing machine gone on the blink. Couldn't find any obvious filters to clean on it. Called a few engineers. No one can get out to us.

So had a go myself. Big mistake.

Managed to shred my knuckles, shout, swear, wreck the lino in the kitchen floor, hurt me poor back....and does it work after all my efforts?

Does it ****. More twinkling lights on the front than a christmas tree.

Wierd, I can fix boilers just lovely!

Large hammer the sledge should suffice washing machines were built by the devil

True. The hole to access all the internals was about 5inch by 12inch. The top comes off but you can't reach it all as it's at the bottom of the drum.

I was cursing good and proper.

Its not washing mate. Loads of flashing lights....drum turns slowly then stops.

I ordered a new one today. Its only 2.5 years old. Talk about things not built to last!

Too late for that, spent my £320 at Curry's this morning. After the grief it gave me the other day, I'll just be glad to see the effing thing go. The handy chaps at Curry's will take it with them and fit the new one free of charge!! Anything to keep the wife happy....I spoil her I really do.

if you're in when they come you can make sure that they do it right! i had a callout a while ago, new w/m fitted single inlet fitted to hot and cold with y piece! causing problems galore. no hot water, mains bursting hot feed to w/m, overflow continuously overflowing. all sorted within 10 mins. but shouldn't have been done in first place. should add wasn't currys but a local electrical store.

Cheers, I'll stand over them sipping my tea....well it would make a change from me being on the receiving end!!

if need advice on washing machine repairs or any other appliance for that matter let me know as been repairing them for last 15 years and i will try to help

Tonto, I so could have done with your help! New machine is fitted now. I bought it through Currys so there guys could fit it, and when they arrived they said they couldn't because it had a waste extension 'kit' on it.

Basically the waste had been extended to a spiggot, litterly by one length of the grey washing machine waste hose you can buy.

Long story short, I ended up having to come home from work to fit it, and I verbally abused to two guys from Currys as useless swines willing to do anything to avoid a bit of work. Bullying idiots giving my 8 month pregnant wife grief saying they would leave it on the drive.

Oh and Tonto, your name isn't Julian is it? I did a course with a appliance engineer called Julian. Very bright fella.
