Hi,

I have just been issued with the above, Kane gld/451 gas sniffer and was wondering if anybody else owned/used one as the last one i had (sorry don't remember the make) was a little to sensitive, and had me looking for leaks that weren't there

like any tool you have to get used to using them mopve them to quick and they give false readings also let it warm up before you try it

press the minus button more, however any gas leaking is what I want to find with mine, never failed me yet

had a kane gas sniffer come with my analyser and its a useless piece of rubbish, goes off randomly even in open air. got a mate who has the same one and he has the same problems with it.
On the one I have doesnt have a plus or minus button, just on off

At my last company gave me an anton one, really useful, although it did go through battery rather fast

Have had a Kane GLD/450 for 5 years and it's been great, they are very sensitive but you get used to how it works after a while. Used it yesterday and put it on top of filing cabinet while working on boiler. It rolled off and smashed on solid floor. What idiot designed it with a round body needs a brain cell recount. Have ordered the TPI version which has rectangular body.

My Kane sniffer lasted 12 month then it just beeped all the time, dropped it off with my analyser on it's annual service, they said it's not worth fixing these do you want to buy a new one.LOL. No thanks, would like to know the best and cheapest one to replace it,if anyone can advise

Has my kane 455 for 6 years....think it's great, also have the anton one which is also good...but if I had a choice I'd have the kane analyser and use the anton printer!

Thanks Anton I'll have a look at that seems a fair price
