HI, JUST WOULD LIKE TO KNOW YOUR OPINONS, MY MOTHER HAS JUST BOUGHT A 2 BED BUNGALOW WITH 8 RADIATORS AND 1 BATHROOM(old electric shower over bath). DO WE UPGRADE TO A COMBI WHILST PROPERTY IS EMPTY OR LEAVE THE BAXI BACK BOILER.IF SO WHICH IS THE BEST AND MOST RELIABLE BOILER DONT JUST WANT THE BEST WARRANTY AS WOULD LIKE NOT TO USE IT.WILLING TO SPEND AROUND £1200 ON BOILER ITSELF THEN MORE ON INSTALLATION COSTS ETC. MANY THANKS
 
would recommend upgrade, but you need to get somebody in to inspect and get advice.

my mother has a baxi back boiler she has lived there for 25 years and not once has it gone faulty in any way !!

They are pretty simply bits of kit the BB, thermocouple, gas valve, Aeromatic bread crumb burner and thermostat, still like I say crap efficiency £200 fuel allowance won't pay for the gas it uses in a winter.
 
Thanks for the replies ,sorry about caps lock .think we are going the combi root and just wondered which make are the best.
 
Vaillant, Worcester , ideal, gloworm and intergas seem to be getting more popular.
 
worth thinking about if you you the combi route then you have no immersion back up and your going to need a good flush through of your current system,also the different pressure on existing pipework
