He's a member on here but didn't give us any to try out in the real world just a controlled environment

 that's a shame, could of sold more if he handed a few testers out to plumbers, I might get it seems like it will save my life at some point, just wanted to know if it REALLY worked and is not one of them flimsy things.

Just stick this under leak could be used for other things and is cheaper

I've just PM'd the guy and asked if he's willing to send over a few samples for testing. Moreso at this time of year as the big freeze begins. I'll let you all know the outcome.

He'll be as tight as two coats of paint if he's a jock

Here here. Tbh I don't think I've ever been to a pipe burst that was either a) not attributable to a fitting, b) in a spot too awkward to fit the kibosh on.

Probably more marketed at the diyers. Buy one just in case and hope it is not a 22 that bursts or a plastic bend

Any of you who have had to deal with a real spate of burst pipes will know what it is like. You get dozens/hundreds of calls in the one night. You start off slowly with one or 2 calls and you may fix the first 2 or 3. After dark sets and the temperature drops you are the on damage limitation. Turn water off and be back tomorrow or the next day. Out until after midnight and back out at 7 the next morning. I used to run around with 2 hammers and a pair of footprints. Can't get to the valve, flatten the pipe. Rough or what
This is where people are under the impression that plumbers make a fortune in the winter. Years ago maybe but not any more. Peoples houses are better heated and insulated these days.
You'd be lucky to get a half dozen bursts in a winter now.

Ain't that a shame. Paid for a few holidays did the burst pipes. One winter 84/5 i think even bought a year old Capri
That was about the last good one for me.

Strange name, usually associated with something going very wrong in my world for example:

Just giving the fitting a final nip Buddy roared after dropping the boiler on his foot, distracted me so I tightened too much and split the fitting, dang new runners he was wearing put the kibosh on the whole job.

Emphasis is more on the I or maybe the original was Y actually a good word to describe a bad day in such a way the mods won't ban you as it replaces a lot of very descriptive terms :)

I've had a right kybosh of a day but made a kibosh load of cash so it was worth the stress. Thank kibosh i don't need to get up early tomorrow. 9 will do me. Kibosh the working; i need a bit time to get the bride her pressies!
Read into that what you want
