Hi Friends

How's your weekend?

So, got this kitchen sink blockage.

Owners put one stop down it, not fixed.

I took all the plastic parts off, clean as a whistle, put a wire spider thingy tool down the waste pipe, went in about 1-2 meters, prodded about a bit, nothing came out. Still blocked.

So, any ideas? There are no other blockages in the house, just the kitchen sink.

Cheers

RCT

Where does the waste run to? Ie outside to open drain or other.

Is the waste pipe running away from the sink rather than back towards?

hello

yep,. it runs away and I think it going into a concealed soil stack.

The drain pipe runs behind kitchen units so cant be accessed easily (as usual).

Got a headache! Need a kip

well, not sure, its an old pipe in a council house, not sure if theyre the same on the britwell? this is an ex- council in Langley.

At the bottom of the soil pipe is like a cover bolted on but i dont think it'll help me as the toilet runs into it and is OK, same as bath and basin.

got me going this has, going for a kip

I'm going for waste pipe not clipped behind units which is causing it to sag and a nice plug of fat causing a blockage. The fat goes rock hard over time and the only thing that'll shift it is a rip out and do over.
Check behind plinth to see if the pipes been dropped below to they didn't even have to notch the units.
Smelly job, good luck lol

Thanks, I think the back of the unit needs to come off also.

Smelly I can take, not knowing is giving me a headache!

Weird, tenants lived there 18 months and no issues.

Thanks again

get a pump action drain unblocker the bright orange ones seem goodjustv fill up the pipe with water and bang

Had a kinetic water ram once. Was the business, cant find one for a tidy price now.

ive got one of these works a treat you must have water all the way to the blockage and hold a wet rag tight on any overflows delivers a shock wave through the water the one linked to above is more like the old suction cup plungers which also can work

I love these jobs. I grab all the blockage out with my bare hands, then i get a apprentice to run to grab my bait box, remove my sandwiches and TA DA! Instant sauce for that fresh chicken sandwich, ooo boy do i love the taste of blockages ;)
