Hi. The cover has come off the overflow pipe on my kitchen sink. It was looking very tarnished anyway, so needs replacing. Can I buy any cover or does it have to be a certain type?
I have attached a photo of the overflow in question. Many thanks Rachel

Quite a few are universal, but not all. Any reason why the new one won’t fit? Too loose, for example?

The cover doesn't screw in to our existing elbow. It just keeps turning. I think the threads have gone on our existing one looking at it

Easiest way short of calling a plumber out (sorry to say) will be to buy a new waste and overflow kit and all the parts will then necessarily be compatible. (Which is what I'd do unless I happened to have odd parts kicking about in the van). Then you'll be asking what kit you need, sadly. Perhaps find a seller with a good returns policy and post back the unused bits.

Or buy from a traditional shop, B&Q, Charlies, or plumbers' merchants - not so cheap, but there when you need them and you can look and measure to your heart's content.

Yes we're going to Screwfix on Saturday so we can ask if we are not sure :) Thank you though!
