Strange convo today with building supervisor,upon removing the kitchen sink in a job i am doing the inspector turned up and said there is asbestos on the kitchen sink .When i asked where he stated its on the black bits under the sink bowl and draining board!! Now my guess is that the sink is 15 year oldish and never before have i heard this about the acoustic pads under the sinks ,has anyone come or known of this before??

Asbestos can be found on old acoustic units under the sink, it can also be found in plastics (for example old thick black WC cisterns.)

its common to find pad under old sinks contain asbestos, it should be picked up on the asbestos management report if its a HA or Council property. Any buildng, product/material made before 2000 may contain asbestos. Landlords have a duty to identify and manage any asbestos in there properties and also must make this information available to any person performing work in the property.
