Hi. A builder has done my extension and left a 110mm waste sticking up about 3 inches from the floor (in my dining new room) with my kitchen waste pipe sticking down it. My question is can I use a 110 boss with 40mm waste pipe into it or do I need to make it into a stub stack with an AAV. The waste from the sink and washing machine is about 1.3m from the waste. The main soil stact is 3m away.
 
If it was me, I'd take a photo or two, then tootle off to the builders merchant/plumbing merchant and ask them to help with the neatest and unobtrusive way to sort it out.

I suggest this as there are so many different fittings and there's a fair bet that whatever is suggested here will work but won't look fantastic. For example you can buy a cap with two fitted bosses to go in the end of the 110mm pipe, as opposed to a strap boss which goes in the side (and then requiring an end cap of sorts).

As far as I'm aware you won't need an AAV or anything to make it more complicated.

It depends what the pipe is connected to.

I would imagine an external back inlet gully with a branch off through the wall is the usual way to connect to waste water to the drains. But you can use a stub stack.

I imagine you may have an external trapped gully on it though, even if it has a sealed lid, because if it was connected directly to the main house drain you would be getting all kinds of smells coming up.

If it does have an external gully, its usual to fit a 110mm x 42mm reducer and put the waste into that. An AAV is not normally required. But as I said your system seems a bit weird to bring a waste connection up in the living room.
Mind you I have known it happen before, drain layers are not always alert, or plans change and people alter the layout.

Anyway go to the government planning website and load down Approved document H that will tell you a lot more.
