Hi All
I have a problem with knocking pipes. When hot supply is shut at any tap there is a knocking sound from the pipes. The hot water is supplied by electric water heater. Any ideas????

Hi A bit light on type of system. But probably water hammer.

support pipework correctly to taps ,reduce flow to tap if possible.

If its just started it might be worn washers or increased water pressure for some reason as well s Puddle says, loose pipes.

Its what happens when you suddenly stop a flow of water, you get back pressure that bangs.

hi, Check the heater type does not require venting type taps or an expansion vessel.
