Knocking the head off.

how do you you knock the head off a hot water cylinder please, and when do use need to do it?

I've knocked the head off a few things but never a hwc.

ive ripped the head off of something alot lol

The term means to drain the cold water storage tank above and thus remove any head pressure feeding the cylinder.

We do it if we're wanting to isolate a hot tap, or possibly change an immersion heater.
