I bought a new pipeslice today after losing my old one, literally less than 10 cuts and then went to cut out another piece of pipe and it was just spinning loosely. Looks like the cutting wheel is going inside when the pipe pushes against it and it stays there.

This happened to a guy I used to work with and he took it apart and fixed it in 2 mins, but I can't remember what he did, was about 6 years ago now.

Anyone know how I can fix it?

Undo the three screws mate at the side and re position the spring mechanism which clamps onto the pipe, takes a bit of getting use to. And buy a couple of spare blades in your van, for the future.

i have just renewed all my kopex for bacho items i have had this a while but did you guys know theres now a 10mm slice?

I always grease up the internals of my pipeslices to prevent this happening.

My wheel sometimes seems to run out of cut as described above, I normally give it a quick spray of WD40 or other releasent, normally does the trick, otherwise its just a case of opening her up and cleaning the inside. This does seem to be a common fault on the pipeslice and does not happen to my monument autocut. Biggest cause of problems is getting all that nasty flux over the cutter, the acid eats away all the plated parts and really plays havoc with the pipe cutter - so be clean.

i notice that after cutting pipes with paint on them mine always struggle afterwards as if paint flakes jam the inner spring tensioner.

Hi all
I was given a milwaukee cordless pipe cutter last weekend, it cuts from 12mm pipe up to 28mm pipe. and I have to say its is the most useless tool in my tool box now, the jaws are to big to get into tight pipework and if the truth be known my old rothenberger pipe slice is quicker, so definatley a tool to avoid

I bought a 15 and 22 mm pipeslices made by Bahco £25 from ebay. They are fantastic. Bright yellow so easy to find and very good grip. Far better than my old Kopex.
