lead gas pipe

procedure,other than ripping the lead out,sadly i took no notice of my last boss when he was soldring copper to lead using some sort of clamp,is there a propriety fitting,i know of these lead loc fitting for water but unsuitable for gas,what do you do,please don't say rip it out as it is not possible at this time.thanks

yes you can connect onto existing lead with a soldered joint

Mind you,faffing around meding it,doesnt make as much money as replacing it and replacement is a better long term solution.

sure it says in the regs ye carnt connect on to it, was told in acs aswell,it can be left in if no drop or its in good condition but if pipework being altered you carnt conect to it for gas

you need another wee read at your books or BS6891 which describes what you can and cannot do

Don't come across to much of it these days. Most has been weighed in. I served part of my time as a bloaky (block tin) chaser :lol: Never came across any of that in a long time.

there was very little on lead kirkgas,just remember not being able to connect to it,could have been something else ive slept since then lol
